About CBC Mizzou
$ cat mission.txt
Learn, build, and ship with Claude at Mizzou.
Claude Builder Club at Mizzou is a student-led community for builders of all backgrounds. Whether you study computer science or journalism, we think AI tools like Claude can help you do more with what you already care about.
As part of Anthropic's Campus Program, our chapter gives Mizzou students 3 months of Claude Pro, API credits ($25 in the fall and $50 in the spring), hats and stickers, hands-on workshops, and a collaborative community to learn and build together.
Our members come from journalism, engineering, business, and everything in between, so no two projects end up looking alike.

Spring Hackathon
Every spring, we host a hackathon. We're planning this year's now.
$ status planning
Our hackathon is the biggest event of the year. Teams spend a weekend building with Claude, and the best projects win API credits.
Last year we worked with Mizzou's College of Engineering and had local employers come in to meet students and see what they built. We're building on that for this spring.
Dates and details will be posted in our GroupMe and on the events page as they're confirmed.
Room to Expand
Most people start with a first prompt. From there you can keep going at your own pace, into bigger projects, demos, and apps you actually deploy.
Workshops cover Claude, Claude Code, and the Claude API, in that order. Hackathons and demo nights are where you show people what you made.
You don't need any experience, just some curiosity. Mizzou is one of 82 schools running a chapter, so there are plenty of other student builders to learn from.
